What is Pain?
Pain is your built-in bodyguard. When the body needs attention, pain forces you to become aware of a problem and address the source of distress. It is one of the human body’s most primitive mechanisms and the responsibility of the central nervous system. 70 to 85 percent of all people have back pain at some time in their life. To ignore pain would be like pulling the batteries out of a fire alarm without finding out what is causing it to go off.
How are we different?
We want to make our office an environment for optimal healing. We never pressure our patients into contracts. Instead, we create a specific protocol individually designed for each patient that allows the body to be free of pain as quickly as possible. It is then up to the patient to decide what works for them the best. Working with multiple disciplines, we use physical therapy, chiropractic adjustments, and medical massage therapy to attack stubborn problem areas specifically and quickly. Once pain is resolved, we will work with you to correct postural imbalances that may have caused your symptoms in the first place. Over a period of time, our patients are re-examined and presented with the x-ray results of their new spines.
Below are the x-rays of a 26-year-old female who presented with lower back pain and upper back/neck tension along with low energy levels. After three months of chiropractic care her neck has retained its natural curve. The patient reports increased energy levels, improved sleep patterns, and no further symptoms.

Below is a 27 year old male that came to our office concerned about his overall posture, particularly what he described as his “straight neck.” The patient was symptom-free at the time but feared he may develop symptoms if he did not address these issues. Within just a few months the patient has established a prominent curve in his neck. The patient feels his overall balance and levels of energy have greatly improved.

A few interesting facts regarding back pain:
- Low back pain is the fifth most common reason for all physician visits in the United States.
- Back pain is the most frequent cause of activity limitation in people younger than 45 years old.
- Most cases of back pain are mechanical or non-organic; meaning they are not caused by serious conditions, such as inflammatory arthritis, infection, fracture or cancer.
- Approximately one quarter of U.S. adults reported having low back pain lasting at least one whole day in the past three months. 7.6 percent reported at least one episode of severe acute low back pain within a one-year period.
- Low back pain is also very costly: approximately 5 percent of people with back pain disability account for 75 percent of the costs associated with low back pain.
- One-half of all working Americans admit to having back pain symptoms each year.
- Approximately 2 percent of the U.S. work force is compensated for back injuries each year.
- Americans spend at least $50 Billion per year on back pain — and that’s just for the more easily identified costs.
